The On-site Inspection Skills Training for Special Food Inspectors Was Successfully Held in CFDI

In order to promote the construction of food inspector team, guarantee the infant formula milk powder product formula and food formula for special medical register on-site verification work smoothly, authorized by State Administration for Market Regulation of special food department, Center for Food and Drug Administration of National Medical Product Administration (hereinafter referred to as CFDI) Inspection Division VI held the on-site inspection skills training for special food inspectors successfully from April 21 to 28, 2019.

This training is divided into three parts: 1. Class discussion. Class discussion part combined the lecturing and interactive manner, mainly discussed the review points of infant formula milk powder and food formula for special medical, overseas inspection procedure, inspection methods of data integrity, the points of register on-site inspection, the interpretation of good manufacturing practices, product procedure and key control links, food production engineering technology, etc. In order to improve attendees’ English level, some courses are taught by foreign experts in English. 2. Simulated inspection. Attendees were divided into 6 teams to conduct simulated inspection on 2 infant formula milk powder manufacturers. The simulated inspection shall be conducted in strict accordance with the procedures, inspection standards and relevant discipline requirements of overseas inspection. At the end of the inspection, each team independently finished an on-site inspection report. 3. Communication and improvement. The leader of each inspection team shall report the results of the simulated inspection, including the problems found, inspection experience and deficiencies. Afterwards, all attendees shared their experience of participating in the practical training, and discussed and communicated the questions related to on-site inspection.

A total of 33 people including someone recommended by State Administration for Market Regulation of special food department, CFDI, Center for Food Evaluation, Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine etc. and the inspectors from some food and drug administration of provinces, municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions attended this training. In order to ensure the training effectiveness, written examination and on-site performance assessment of attendees were set up respectively during the classroom discussion and simulation inspection. Attendees all said that the training focused on the improvement of on-site inspection skills, excellent organization, rich content and novel form, and everyone benefited a lot, and it is provided a necessary theoretical and practical foundation for the future overseas inspection of special food.
