In order to implement the requirements of “carrying out skills training around professional inspector team construction” of leading Party group of the CFDA, to promote the capacity of inspectorate, and improve the professional skills and comprehensive quality of the inspectors, the Eighth Experts’ Forum was successfully held at CFDI according to the work plan of CFDI Academic Committee on September 27, 2017. He Zhonggui, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shenyang Pharmaceutical University was invited in this expert forum, and give a lecture on “Drug preparation process elements analysis and new technology research progress" in this forum”.

Professor He is mainly engaged in the design, preparation and evaluation of new drug-delivery systems, with rich experiences especially in improving the bioavailability of indissolvable drugs and making the indissolvable drugs into injections. Professor He is a distinguished professor of the Changjiang Scholars granted by the Ministry of Education, and enjoys special allowance of the State Council. He is also the national candidate of the “Million talents project”, the member of China Pharmacopoeia Commission, the member of the China Pharmaceutical Association Nano-drug Specialized Committee and other titles. He has published more than 150 papers and applied for more than 50 national invention patents.

In this forum, Professor He made a comprehensive introduction on the pharmaceutical preparation process characteristics and the development of pharmaceutical preparations, focusing on the process characteristics and physical and chemical properties of oral release preparations, oral prolonged-release preparations and controlled release preparations and other common solid oral preparations, and introducing the latest frontier technologies of preparation development at present, such as process analysis technology (PAT), continuous production technology, 3D printing, liposomes, micelles, nanocrystals, etc. Professor He's lecture is comprehensive, which is not only on the basis of the discipline theory, but also focuses on the technical requirements of pharmaceutical inspection, with important reference significance for the related personnel engaged in the relevant inspection work.

Over 360 people from the Department of CFDI, the Center for Drug Certification of Beijing Food and Drug Administration, and 18 provincial drug inspectorate from the whole country synchronously watching through video system participated in the training.
